Laminate Experience
Nothing but Advantages
Kronotex laminate floors offer huge advantages over traditional wood or bamboo flooring in that they are much more durable and have a much higher load bearing capacity. They also require no future maintenance, other than light cleaning as one would with any normal floor surface. Kronotex Laminate is easier and cheaper to install, and come in a huge variety of colours and styles.
Kronotex was one of the first manufacturers in the world to present the new "Clic" generation in connection technology, and they have recently extended this concept with the introduction of the new Express Clic system, on the short end of the boards. (see below)

Natural & Environmentally Friendly
As a natural product Kronotex flooring creates a healthy and environmentally friendly atmosphere. For the manufacturing of our core structure, we use only freshly cut trunks of pine within the immediate vicinity of our factory. This is a normal product of forest management, so that we are contributing to the eco-friendly use of the forests.
All production procedures are subject to the strictest environmental regulations and controls. In this way, Kronotex can guarantee that only natural and environmentally friendly materials are used. The wood component of Kronotex flooring is 80 to 85 per cent of dry material. We do not use harmful substances like halogens, heavy metals, chlorides, PVC, PCB or dioxins.
Thus, Kronotex flooring is extremely health friendly and, after a lifetime's use, can be disposed of as normal household refuse. Please check with your local collection services.
Panel Construction

Kronotex laminates consist of at least four stable layers which ensure the extraordinary durability and unique quality of Kronotex floors.
- The top surface of the flooring consists of a specially resistant protective overlay film. This is fused with an attractive resinated decorative film into a practically abrasion-proof, hardwearing surface.
- Extremely dense HDF fiberboard forms the supportive core. (HDF, E1).
- On the undersurface of the core a dampness-impeding stabilization film ensures and preserves the high structural stability of Kronotex laminates.
- All Exquisit and selected Dynamic floorings are fitted with an additional "Sound Design" underlay to minimise footstep and ambient noise.
It's what's underneath that matters
Once you have decided for a laminate floor, when quality and appearance are a perfect fit, then you need to check the requirements for perfect installation. The suitability of the subfloor is very important.
Suitable Subfloors :
- Old flooring such as wood, firmly-adhering PVC, dry ceramic, linoleum
- Cement screed (max. residual moisture: 2.0CM%)
- Anhydrite cement and anhydrite flow cement screed (max. residual moisture: 0.3CM%)
- Magnesia screed (max. residual moisture: 3.0CM%)
- Have a screed spezialist in your area give you are residual moisture report!
Wet and damp rooms, saunas, carpeting, and xylolith are not suitable underfloors.
The subfloor must be dry, level, firmly affixed, and clean. Minor unevenness can be compensated with an underlay mat or – if exceeding 3 mm/m – sanded down or leveled with a filler.
Underfloor heating – of course!
Kronotex laminate floors can be readily installed over warm water underfloor heating, serve well, and even help to save on heating costs. Simply observe these conditions carefully:
- Be sure to heat mineral underlays before flooring installation to eliminate any excess dampness.
- Have a heating specialist in your area give you a heating report!
- Ensure that during installation, the surface temperature of the floor is at least 15°C (60°F).
- For dampness insulation and as a vapor barrier, use a (0.2mm) PE film underlayment. For sound absorption you can use PE foam, Kronotex underlay mat or Kronotex Laminate flooring with "Sound Design" footfall sound reduction.
- At the beginning of each heating period, when you first turn on the underfloor heating, raise the temperature gradually in 5°C (9°F) increments until you reach the desired temperature. The floor's surface temperature should not exceed 26°C (80°F)
A Good Choice
With your decision for Kronotex laminate, you are on the winning side. Place your bet on versatility, and the payoff is quality and comfort, individual design, ease of handling, durability, longevity, security, and economy. Enjoy the best of life and living.
"Kronotex – Floors for living" – the slogan has become familiar. And no wonder: laminate is far more than a "wood substitute." Innovative, with universal application in many areas of life, laminate has become a worldwide success that keeps gaining ground.
